Why study Turkish music and dance? Have you studied belly dance and learned only about Arabic music? Recently, I heard a comment from a professional dancer who was booked to dance with a band that played music she was not familiar with; and thus her performance felt “off” and it definitely was not an enjoyable performance experience. I successfully danced in Germany 35 years ago with many different Turkish bands – speaking neither Turkish nor German – we communicated via rhythms and melodies for many memorable nights of shows. Come broaden your knowledge and experience base; come learn about Turkish music and dance styling.

Turkish Musical History – learn about the roots of “Am-Cab” and how Turkish differs from Arabic music and how Turkish music styling is incorporated into Arabic dance music.
